The Couches of Kirksville

The Kirksville City Council adopted an ordinance in April of 2000 forbidding indoor furniture to be stored outside. Although portrayed as a serving health goals (‘they can harbor rats’) it seems more likely to be a regulation aimed at local college students. One exception to the ordinance is the temporary leaving of furniture at the curb during our annual Spring cleanup.
